  My wife FINALLY quits Witnessing and Meetings admits I was right!!!

  for afew years a have been fading and telling my wife how i feel about such false doctrines as blood transfusions, 607 b.c.e date etc.

  at first she would say "don't talk to me about discouraging things!!

  " since i haven't been attending meetings or field service for over 2 years she has slowly quit 1. witnessing, then 2. theocratic school which she hated anyway but was forced to do.

  I'm so happy for you and your wife finally being able to break free. Yeah, the We miss you! How are you? How fake can they get? They know where you live and have your phone number. So why do they go on missing you? I face this about once a month in the stores. I haven't moved. They know where to find me. Be glad they are leaving you alone. I know that I don't want that kind of attention.

  Be honest, Do you really Enjoy Christmas?

  dansk's christmas tree thread got me to thinking .. in this house we do not celebrate since my wife is still a die hard dub.

  i have no complaints about that, it was our joint choice for decades and i an the one that changed .but as witnesses we were always given the negative view of the holiday time :-.

  "people feel that they just have to do it although they do not really want to".

  I love X-mas for all of the reasons given: family, friends, food, drink, music (ok, so now I can't hear it, so what! I can still sing it.). I'm having fun making it the way I want it, not the way the mall or Hallmark wants me to make it. This is our 2nd Christmas since leaving in 2005. The first one felt surreal. Since each one of us makes our own Christmas celebrations, we have to come up with the meaning it has for us oursleves. Christmas sucked your whole life? Reinvent it: no field service on Christmas day, for example. Make a plan for a successful celebration your style. I'm starting from scratch as I grew up a JW. I secretly loved Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas my whole life. I saw what I was missing and was livid about it. Now I can have it and leave the commercialism out of it as much as I want. About all of the 'I's in this note, Christmas is such a personal event that one shares with others that if you leave yourself out of it and only consentrate on others, you will be miserable. Do it your way and share the joy:) Happy Christmas and New Year and all of those other previously forbidden wishes!

  Could it be that the real god is allowing us to learn our life lessons before "graduating" to the next life lesson? No interference, just learning. And since life starts over and over again through out time, some lessons can be awfully hard to deal with? How does that sound? Just trying out some thoughts here.

  Disfellowshipped without knowing

  i am being ignored by my neighbours and have been gingerly waved to by an elder.

  now i haven't heard anything from anyone but is it possible to be disfellowshipped without my knowing?

  Remember the article about tubaligation and vasectomies? It said if one were to have it done, the person's loyalty might be doubted by others in the cong. How do elders and others find out about confidential medical proceedures? People have been DF'd for medical things like blood and abortion. How do they know?

  Ever hear convincing testimony that d'f'ing is a "loving arrangement"?

  just wondering, cuz it's so often espoused by those doing the shunning that disfellowshipping is a "loving arrangement," and there must be tons of "testimonial" literature from the borg saying so; however, when i was a jw, i don't recall ever once hearing a previously d'f''ed one giving witness to how loving it was.

  Logical falacy: Appeal to force and appeal to pity. DFing does both by appealing to force with threats of shunning if one doesn't straighten out, and appeal to pity is the guilt trip of "Oh, you are breaking our hearts! Come back to JH or we will be sad!" I love college

  But children are named Muhamed. It's just a name until you put "Prophet" in front of it. They just like to find excuses to beat and kill people. I think Islam is another name for worldwide genocide. There is nothing anyone can say about it that will ever change my mind on how Islam is just a front for a killing machine, just like Christianity hid behind the name when killing all throughout history. Christianity has changed, though. I like the Buddy Jesus, too.
